About Event
Design thinking is a human-centered approach to problem-solving that fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation. This program will provide a comprehensive introduction to design thinking, from understanding its core principles and stages to applying them to real-world challenges in engineering and technology education.
The program will be delivered through a blend of interactive lectures, engaging activities, and collaborative exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to work in small groups, receive feedback from facilitators, and develop their design thinking skills through practical application.
Day 1: Understanding the Challenge & Building Empathy
· Morning (9:00 AM - 1:30 PM):
o Welcome and Introductions (15 min)
o What is Design Thinking? (45 min)
o Defining the Challenge (75 min)
o User Empathy (60 min)
o Lunch Break (60 min)
· Afternoon (1:30 PM - 4:00 PM):
o User Research & Insights (60 min)
o Q&A & Wrap-up (75 min)
Day 2: Generating Solutions & Taking Action
· Morning (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM):
o Recap & Day 2 Introduction (15 min)
o Ideation & Solution Generation (45 min)
o Prototyping (75 min)
o Break (15 min)
· Afternoon (1:00 PM - 4:30 PM):
o Lunch Break (30 min)
o Building on Design Thinking for Research & Innovation (1:30 PM - 4:30 PM)

§ Research Article Writing (60 min)
§ Coffee Break (15 min)
§ Patent Drafting (45 min)
§ Interactive Exercise & Wrap-up (30 min)
This afternoon session will equip faculty members with the skills to document their design thinking process through research article writing and patent drafting, fostering innovation and research impact.
